DISCUSSIONS
Photo One |
I chose this photo because I thought the photo gave an excellent amount of depth to the violin. This photograph was used to demonstrate aperture in term two. I like how the focus on the violin in the center, making your eye move up the body of the instrument and see every crack and detail in the wood.

Photo Two |
My second photo was chosen because I liked the unique display of line and shape. The photo was black and white and I liked how that effect made it enhance how old and worn the building was. The photo being in black and white allowed the rust, dirt, and etc blend in and look more appealing as opposed to color. The focus and shape of the cellar in the foreground directs your eye to the background of the photograph where the cellar and wall meet.

Photo Three |
This third photo is one I took of Liz! I like this photo because I believe it displays and excellent emotion in the face with the pose and lighting combined. Even though the portrait is very centered, I feel like the way she is looking up and how the lighting is more so on her top half gives the photograph a sense of direction.

Photo Four |
This fourth photo is another photo of the violin. I like this photo because the focus is mainly on the tuning pegs and slightly down the neck. I achieved this using a small depth of field. The position the violin is angled at and the gradual losing focus of the neck as it goes further into the foreground helps bring the viewers eye around the photo.

Photo Five |
My fifth photo is of power lines. This photo is very interesting because the sky provides a very good negative space to boost the contrast between the power lines and everything else in the photo. Power lines are an excellent subject to photograph if you want a nice example of line and negative space. The lines coming into frame and attaching to the pole in the first third of the photo attracts your eye to it. Another thing I felt was visually interesting about this photo was the detail of the trees in the background.

Photo Six |
The sixth and final photo is a photo of a wooden fence I took on a walk in the beginning of the school year. I love this photo because it seems very moody and I love how the shape of the leaves peaking though the planks of wood is silhouetted. This picture was taken on a pretty cloudy day so there is a nice negative space of the background and contrast between the background and fence and leaves. This photo graph can direct your eye around the whole frame because of the unique angle on the fence and how the blanks of wood look like its descending away from you.
