DISCUSSION
For my first assignment we experimented with and perfected using line and shape to enhance a photograph. I used varying angles, and distances to my advantage to make a visually appealing photograph. For example the first photo is a close up image of a car, this up close and personal point of view focuses on one individual part of the car. Then for images four through six I used a close distance to zero in on details of an abandoned town hall to get the lines of old windows, boards of wood with chipped paint, and cellars. The photo of the cellar (image five) leads the viewers eye to the back most part of the cellar because the furthest corner is in the left third of the photograph and the blur in in the foreground with a line from the foreground leading to the furthest corner. I used casting shadows from above to my benefit in the photograph of the gazebo (image seven) to give a diversity in different types of line and direction. Four out of all eight photos are vertical.
